If your smile is dull, yellowed or stained, we can help! Our cosmetic dentist and team offer professional teeth whitening treatments to brighten your smile! While there are many over-the-counter whitening solutions, nothing will renew your teeth and smile as quickly, effectively or safely as a professional treatment here at Hills Park Dental.

When Would You Need Teeth Whitening?

Teeth become discolored for a variety of reasons, ranging from the natural progression of time and poor dental hygiene to tobacco use, foods and drinks that stain, tooth decay and trauma. When you visit our dental office for teeth whitening, our cosmetic dentist will discuss your smile goals with you to determine the type of whitening that will help you achieve the look you desire. There are two main types of whitening – take-home whitening and in-office whitening.

The Difference Between Take-Home Whitening vs In-Office Teeth Whitening

Both take-home and in-office teeth whitening rely on the use of a powerful, but safe, whitening gel. With take-home whitening, this gel is placed into special trays which you can wear on your own schedule. This gel will gradually work to lighten the color of your teeth until you have achieved your desired shade of white. If you receive in-office whitening, our team will apply the gel directly to your teeth and activate it with a special light, speeding up the whitening process so that you leave our office with a noticeably brighter smile.

Maintaining Your Enhanced Smile

Please keep in mind that results from teeth whitening will eventually fade, and you may need to “touch up” your smile with another whitening treatment from time to time. You can extend the results of your treatment to keep your teeth brighter by:

  • Maintaining proper oral hygiene and continuing to visit our office regularly for routine preventive care
  • Avoiding smoking or using other tobacco products
  • Avoiding frequent consumption of foods and drinks that stain, or by rinsing with water immediately after consuming them (such as coffee, red wine, dark soft drinks, teas and berries)
